LEARNING TO FLY

"Life is an adventure, lived out between birth and death, earth and sky. While we are here , we might as well learn to fly. It beats walking the whole way to Heaven!" pjmcn

FLYING WITH FRIENDS!

THERE IS NOTHING QUITE LIKE BEING WITH FRIENDS!

FLYING IN A FLOCK MUST FEEL THE SAME!

Can't you just imagine , wing tip to wing tip, soaring through the sky, lower, higher, feathers ruffled in the wind... or the fluttering flight of a butterflies, who seem to touch and fly and float together in the air!

Going for an afternoon with friends, and the words are our wings, taking one another here and there.

We share memories  and make memories!

Altogether, as we listen to each other, and follow one anothers  spoken thoughts, I feel like I fly.

Have a memorable day with friends, wontcha?

PERFECTING FLYING ISN'T EASY!

Just when I think I have this blogg about
FLYING perfected, I publish a blogg, ( you may not want to look at it , it is boring!!!!)  and I have no idea how to edit it.
it was suposed to have pictures! Great pictures,
Friends pictures...... Lisa and Mercy, dainty little flowers!

and others. like
             My  good friend, forever, Gladys.

So I opted to put these friends into a new blogg!

" sometimes you can't change what is done, but you can always add another whole new page!"   pjmcneal

and simply fly away from the hassle of editing!

So have a fly away day, won'tcha?

Flying When Everything Says Stand Still!!!!

Some days, it would seem a person should stay in bed. The sky is dark! The clouds are rolling in! Lots of work piled up, mmmmmmm  Get up??

Ahhhhhh, the dark skies flashed lightning,

dropped rain, ( filling the water tank)

The work was challenging and rewarding,

and I even had time to clown around!

WHO WOULD EVER WANT TO SPEND A DAY IN BED!

HAVE AN UP AND AT 'EM DAY, WONCHA!

SITTING ISN'T FLYING, BUT YOU CAN SEE WHERE TO SOAR!

I SOMETIMES FLY, BUT DON'T SOAR!

"busy flying" isn't really flying! You don't really leave the ground at all!

Yesterday, I truly could see in my mind what was making the sounds I was hearing, and all the people and creatures and mechanical things that were making them.

 It was an ear-photograph!

Then I thought about just sitting, something I don't do very often, as I am usually in Kenya and busy!
Sometimes we need to just sit and watch, and listen, and then we can see the heights to reach!

This photo of a fishing eagle on Lake Victoria shows what his waiting and watching got: -fish lunch!

I have been too busy tring to "fly", I havenven't taken time to stop and just do a little creative thinking.

MMMM I think I like this hillside in Uganda, and maybe I'll even remember how to correct the spelling mistake I made in yesterdays blog! I put in "darks barking" but is really was dogs!

Any minute now, if I sit quietly, and don't fly for a few moments, it will come to me.

Have a restful day, wontcha! pjmcneal

SITTING ON A HILL IN UGANDA

As I sit by the open door, reading a book, the sounds come up the hill like photographs!
Each sound I am hearing today brings a picture with it. The birds, many varieties, make a chorus, when I listen closely! Loud chirps, harking laughs, trills, cheeps, all the sounds of bird-dom, and it blends through the other sounds I hear!
The banging hammers of the men across the alley making a brick wall, their voices punctuating their hammer sounds.
A radio is playing somewhere, with music in another language, but it too seems to blend.
I hear the cars on the road at the bottom of the hill, heavy trucks changing gears, an airplane goes overhead.
A little child is talking to his mom at the gate, and dogs make a sporadic bark that picks up the tune!

The everday song of life as  people go about their day.

So much better than yesterday, when the sounds were teargas cannisters bursting, guns being fired, and sirens   wailing. Yesterday the sounds were bad and frightening, but today, all is calm, and life goes on!

Have a good sounding day, wontcha!  pjmcneal

OLD MEMORIES FLYING BY

You will never guess, this is such a fun picture for me!
My oldest grandaughter's closet, with my mother's old jewelry box!

Mom was the queen of beads, making jewelry and lots of gorgeous tree ornament, among other things. One year we found the perfect gift, this big box!

She just loved it, and after she died, I got it back. It sat in storage for years, I couldn't take it to Kenya!

At last, it has a home. We put it in the car in B.C. and it drove with us to upstate New York, and Maria's new closet.

And she is the queen of loving jewelry, vintage or otherwise, definitely related to her great grandma.

It is so much fun to pass something on, the right thing to the right person, just makes me feel good!

We didn't samve a lot of stuff, but the odd bit here and there, ahhh, what fun!

One thing I can take to Kenya, or anywhere for that matter, is all the wonderful memories. They are even better than picutres, and never glitch in the external hard drive, or stick in the photo album, or get lost in the baggage department!

mmmmm, memories, old and new.

Have a memorable day, wontcha?

FIRST STEPS TO FLYING

September and the kids go to school, for some it is the first step into kindergarden, or first step into high school!
Or a September holiday, and the first step to getting on the plane, or the boat, or the car....

I started thinking of first steps, and that made me notice how many people take photos of feet!

Feet, footsteps, first steps....
We have travelled so much this year, and every trip had a first step .... maybe to unearth the passports, the suitcase, walk into the travel agent ...
Other journeys..... like the first step down the aisle in a church, who would have thought that 35 years later that first step would have taken me around and around the world!

...First step into a store to buy a camera, would lead to a special friend who takes amazing photos, and has encouraged me to try to take amazing photos!

We all have first steps everyday, and who knows where it is leading,

Have a really stepping out day, wontcha!
